My relationship with Primark + Wedges Review

I recently braved a trip to my local Primark (not for the faint hearted I assure you) to see what bargainous glories waited for me. Unfortunately a trip to Primark- cheap as it maybe- never turns out cheap as I am one of the unlucky 80% of women suffering from the common disease known widely as Primark Head. In other words, you get so caught up in the cheapness of it all that you don't even realise that you have accumulated like £100 worth of it! Anyway, I was in need (though my mum and dad would beg to differ) of a new pair of going out shoes as I had worn my trusty black wedges to death. So I bit the bullet and began trying shoes on which, may I add, IS TORTURE. Primark obviously thinks it amusing to force customers to waddle and hop around in their shoes which have been 'handily' tied together with elastic.. I've literally faceplanted in Primark before, it's not fun for anyone involved particularly my pride!! But to my joy I eventually came across these babies:

Pros:
* Are not only surprisingly well made (never thought I'd say that..) but also surprisingly comfy, was expecting to suffer very un-silently after a few hours in them!
* Are v v cheap! Well by Primark standard they're perhaps not but in the grand scheme of things £12 is great for a pair of wedges! Lots of people complain about this but try and see the bigger picture people!! Hahaha :-)
* Go with just about everything, like my mum says 'you can't go wrong with black!'

Cons:
If you're on the petite side of things this will probably be irrelevant to you but-
* They're high. Very high. But who gives a flying f really?? I used to have a problem with wearing heels as I am taller than the majority of my friends but recently I have just let it go because.. Great shoes> everything else (including looking like a "tranny" as one of my friends once charmingly called me!)

So all in all, at the end of the day all I can say is.. GET THEM! You won't regret promise!

Review: Zara Office City Bag

So after what seemed like an eternity of fruitless searching I FINALLY tracked down the infamous Zara Office City Bag- the supposed holy grail of Prada/Chanel tote dupes. I fell in love with this bag after seeing it on countless bloggers and celebrities and just knew I had to have it! However, fate was not on my side and it was temporarily out of stock- heart=broken. But you can imagine my joy a few days later when I got the email telling me it was back in stock- I literally fell off my bed and ran to get my card! But it seems at this point any bad karma I built up over the years took it out on me having this god damn bag and the order wouldn't process.. WOT? Has anyone else had this problem with Zara? I tried to call their customer helpline but was told I would be charged and ain't nobody got time for that. So understandably I was fuuuuming because before I knew it, it was out of stock AGAIN. Anyway skip forward a bit- when it seemed like all hope was lost- a miracle happened. Seriously, it's up there with some of the ones in the holy bible; I was out shopping with my mum and decided to make a last ditch attempt to find this bag in Zara.. Straight away I was pretty pessimistic but my mum- who had also been dragged into this search for the Office City Bag holy grail- wouldn't give up and next thing I know she has found it! I literally slow-mo ran towards her and we basically exchanged a three-way bag/mother/daughter hug (seriously).

REVIEW

The main reasons I'm obsessed with this bag are:

  • Its amazing storage- it has 3 main zip compartments along with 2 poppered ones with amazing small additional compartments for your phone, iPad, credit cards and so on.
  • The middle compartment is padded so it would be ideal for carrying any laptop safely and comfortably and there is another smaller padded pocket that can fit any tablet/kindle/iPad.
  • It also comes with a detachable shoulder strap with a support pad which is always handy.
  • It's large size. Seriously, you will not be short of room EVER with this bag.
  • You just can't not adore the cross hatched leather, gold metal detailing and the gorgeous burgundy lining.
The Office City Bag is priced at £49.99 which I thought was good value for such a well-made product. Definitely more than I would usually pay for a bag but 100% worth it!
The bag is currently in stock in Zara- hopefully they've sorted their problems out now: http://www.zara.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product/uk/en/zara-neu-S2013/358019/1098567/OFFICE%20CITY%20BAG
